Reaching for Light

This is the path from our lodge to the downhill ski area.
The sun was streaming through light clouds, flooding the snow in soft light.

Where do you ski? The nearest ski area to Texas is in New Mexico. The light and shadows in this are lovely.

Hi Virginnia,
We have a large ancient mountain area that is covered in snow for about three months in winter. We claim to have the first "social" ski club in the world! Our grandfathers were skiing on carved fence posts for fun around the 1900's. Now we are more sophisticated, and there are at least 6 or 7 large resorts spread between NSW and Victoria. Our favourite one is called "Perisher" (you can imagine why!) Here is a link to it: http://www.perisher.com.au It is about 5 hours drive south of Sydney.
In two weeks we will be venturing further south to Mt Hotham in another state, Victoria. Here the town is at the top of the mountain, rather than in the valley. Here is the link to that resort. http://www.mthotham.com.au/

Thank you for the links. Looks like so much fun. I had forgotten that your seasons are opposite to ours. August is our hottest month, and it's blistering hot in Texas right now!
